Kicker ZX1500.1 VS MMATS 2100.2

Well I was looking for a bigger amp for my IA Death Penalty and I found the Kicker amp on Ebay and made a bid and won the bid, this is a 1500 watt amp at 2 ohms which is what the IA is, but before I found out I won the bid I had already bought the Mmats 2100.2 which is a 2000 watt at 2 ohm amp. Which amp would you guys use? I have never been arround a Mmats amp but was told they are made in USA and are a very good amp. I now have two big amps and only need one of them which one should I go with? Any opinions? Would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, that is what I was thinking also, might sell the Kicker amp, I have no use for it. If it was 1ohm stable I could use it my other car but Kicker states its stable at 2ohm, although I have heard of people running them at a 1ohm load. I have a Nakamichi NAK-PA1500 that I would swap with the Kicker if I thought I could safely run the Kicker at 1ohm.

you can safely run the kicker at 1 ohm as long as you have the electrical to back it. At 1 ohm I would suggest at least two batteries as its not very efficient at one ohm however at 1 ohm the kicker 1500.1 puts out around 2300 watts. I used to run one and also talked to a few team kicker guys who were running them

If I run two batteries, how big of a alt would you think I would need?

My friend had a stock alt from a Honda civic. So if you are thinking of getting a HO alt I would get 200 amps to 230 amps depending on price difference. I would look into a Singer(not stinger lol) alt as I hear the owner is nice and makes great HO alts with a lifetime warranty. Remember though, they are designed to run 2 ohms so there is still some risk of running it at 1 ohm. Just letting you know but I haven't heard anyones blowing up at 1 ohm

Well I got my MMATS 2100.2 amp yesterday, I unhooked my Kicker 1500.1 from the IA Death Penalty and hooked up the MMATS, for some reason the Kicker seems to be louder. What is the problem? Is my electrical not good enough to run the MMATS properly? Both sound good but the Kicker sounds louder and it deffinitely makes the vehihcle flex more. The MMATS is a 2000 watt amp and the Kicker is a 1500 watt amp. Is it because the Kicker has bass boost or do I not have the MMATTS set right, it only has two adjustments, gain and frequency. I have no idea where I should have the frequency set, it adjusts from 77 to 275. Any help would be appreciated. If its my electrical I am just going put the Kicker back in for now, dont have the time to tear in to my electrical right now.

well the Matts amp is 1550 watts rms at 13.8 volts, therefore you're not getting more power to your subwoofer. Perhaps the kicker is more underrated and thats why you hear a difference. the kciker's bass boost should be off as well.

It is a DVC 1ohm, I have it ran in series to a 2ohm load.
