Thumbs down killing the industry AGAIN!!

its come to my attention that and something tint are holding shows on the same day and in the same town and on the same street!!! wow. somethings fuc#%$ up with this one.... lets see dave has run that show there for the past 5 yrs. soooo stands to reason that he will do it again.. so when tint place decided to hold a show didnt they contact and ask if they were doing there show again that weekend? i know they posted befor did but i bet the answer to the above question was.....dosent dave hold his show that weekend? ya but fu@$ him! correct me if iam wrong but whats the hell are you doing.... this is how we almost lost the industry in the mid 90s. now if gets only 5 cars to come out do you really think they will host anymore shows? i would be pissed... these shows cost money and not a lot of return on the investment, and no one showed up..... 5 yrs ago fulled the car scene back to life with the help of james pushing the usaci side of it... great cudos to both of you. thats not my beef. but now there is the potential for to say to hell with holding shows anymore and, well tint dude has no track record for shows so its hard to say if he will ever hold another one........but we know always has shows..... iam not sidding with or with the tint store, i just think that has earned the right to at least a phone call to ask if they are going to have a show on that date again.... thats all... now there are....in my opinion not enough cars to justify two shows at the same time and make it profitable..... so now what, pulls out and dosent hold a show again........... at any store........... tint store cant afford to run a show next yr so it dosent hold any....... now because of the "ME" factor and not the good of our industry we will loose.....or potentially could loose.......... 5 or 6 really good show....... sorry folks but i would rather go to 5 or 6 good shows than only have one show that rocks . why didnt the powers that be hold the show together.... damn with daves givaways and james freinds and industry pull, and patricks savvy way on the mic, i think egos asided that show would have put canada on the sound off map. hell we can kick sbn butt were canadians, anything a yankee can do we can fix it make it better and perfect it.
sorry but this to me is NOT going to help our industry and feel it will hurt us considerably

just promote the show well, give people a reason to go to your show instead of the other place.

Here are some facts - I am trying to remain professinal...

- Andre's was asked to provide dates etc. in March, we waited 2 1/2 months for a reply - none
- They were informed on June 5th that this show was going to happen
- If this Tint Shop, which is the largest Viper Dealer, Eclipse Dealer, and Rockford dealer in BC for the last 5 years, didn't hold this event. Their would not be Western Finals for competitors in DB Drag or USACi
- Andre's has choosen not to hold any form of sanctioned show...

a little clarification goes a long way........ thank you james........ but as i stated earlier..... i am not against both show running...... i just dont want both shows running at the same time!!! not good for the industry........ now as stated this tint. if they are the largest r.f. dealer, viper ect..... why havent they held a show befor? now i applaude them for doing so much this yr. to hold a db finals, not a problem there, but on the same day as show!! someone should have changed there date.. now i dont know if or tint store but one of the two...... thats my beef...

If a show is unsanctioned then IMO it is not a show - it is a waste of time. Plain and simple. I mean why bother even going

James is a good show guy

I should stay out of this but i do participate in all the sanctions provided in Western Canada here and there but a show is a show and if it was planned then go with it , but i wouldnt try and go against another show unsanctioned just to snag competitors because they cant enjoy competing when they have to drive around to get there. A show one after another say Sat Sunday would give everyone exposure but yes sound offs is for a rare breed of people and i dont think it would hurt the industry it just hurts the competitors.
Just my thoughts to your thread thats all.....

I say if you're a competitor go for the points and go for the sanctioned event.

If you want to do the same show again (which Andre's usually puts on a good show) then head there... or you could try something new.

Personally I always liked DB Drag style competition when I competed... then it's actually head to head competition.

Wow, just wow.

If I had to chose between a triple point event and Dave's show, I'd go to Dave's

He can do a better show at nap time than almost anyone else going 100% full tilt
