Personally I was already into loud music before I could drive, and I always liked cars. It just seemed to fit for me.

Ahhh... 1985... I was in a couple of bands and wanted a deal on a Beta HIFI to record my band with... so I started working weekends at Speaker City with my brother (he was at the A&B Sound offs as the "speaker doctor").... I lusted after his 87' Honda CRX Si with a Yamaha CD Player ! (Cartridge Load!), Dual 15" JBLs (out of studio monitors) and 5.25" Pyle drivers with Audexs on the dash. My first system was in a brand new 88" Honda Civic hatchback -- Pull out Alpine CD, 5.25" Pyle drivers (huge magnets) Alpha-sonik 100w front and 200w sub amp, audex tweets on the dash and 10" pyle driver in a bandpass -- at the time I had the loudest stereo at UBC.

Doug Gilroy, now that is a blast from the past. Not many people remember him and his expertise.

He was my contact at Staub back in the late 80's when I worked for Krazy Eddies up in Vernon. Anything that I did not know, he sure did. What was the name of the install shop.......ahhh yes Installations Only.

My parents wouldn't let me have the home theatre sub that I bought in college (for my computer) in the house because it was too loud.. so I bought an inverter and hooked it up to the half busted kenwood deck in my sister's car.
