go new, with anything, wear happens overtime and you will be happier in the log run, the other thing is people are getting rid of it for a reason, sometimes its because they are going bigger or getting out but like others have said they may have done the install themselves and used a LOC turned the gains up and sent a clipped signal to the sub at max volume....

used is a good route to getting a product above what you can afford new, but it is used and is something the owner doesn't want anymore (you have to ask yourself why). New is pricier but comes with nice features like a warranty. If buying used (or even new stuff on line) there is also the possibility of buying crap, or even getting ripped off so go with trusted people either way.
