I'd say go with the new deal. Nothing worse than buying stuff that's in "mint condition" only to realize that it's had the crap beat out of it.

Another source for used stuff is kijiji.ca pick your city and off you go

go new, with anything, wear happens overtime and you will be happier in the log run, the other thing is people are getting rid of it for a reason, sometimes its because they are going bigger or getting out but like others have said they may have done the install themselves and used a LOC turned the gains up and sent a clipped signal to the sub at max volume....

would anyone recommend the pioneer setup mr2nr is offering? I haven't heard too much about pioneer stuff.

from what I have heard they sound good, I would look up the models that he is suggesting and read some reviews.

used is a good route to getting a product above what you can afford new, but it is used and is something the owner doesn't want anymore (you have to ask yourself why). New is pricier but comes with nice features like a warranty. If buying used (or even new stuff on line) there is also the possibility of buying crap, or even getting ripped off so go with trusted people either way.
