loosing control
loosing control
got a problem guys . when I really get on my subs my front right speaker starts to flop around like a fish and crackles . I figure my sub amp is being greedy and hogin all the juice causin the high amp to clip horribly . this sound right to you all ?
I did the normal checks , it's NOT the speaker . if I mute my subs the speaker functions flawlessly . I thought I had seen it all , theres always an explanation , but this is just friggin weird , there isn't even a serious voltage drop on the battery .
where are your door speakers at? stock location? also, are you running the stock wires to them? If your sub amp is going hard it would probably cause an initial voltage drop but when the alternator kicks in it should gain a few, maybe your amp is shot.
problem solved . I had over tightened the screw on the amp and it went through the plastic beneath it and settled a hair away from the casing of the amp , and when the bass shook the amp too much it caused the screw to get close enough to the amp casing for current to arc across the gap , but only on the downward cycle of the vibration ,which explains why it only happend with subs at high volumes , good news , every thing survived undammaged .
