I totally agree with the original post.

This booming has to stop.
No car should contain any type of subwoofer.
Loud booming cars need to be taken away and scrapped.
SPL contests should be outlawed and the organizers put in jail.

ID subs should be burned in public at the town hall every week.

Now, get off my lawn

the only thing anoying about the booming cars is the one parked in front of ur house just banging for like 30 mins or anything over 5mins is very anoying. when u park turn it down for respect. when ur driving pump it i dont care. just dont park and crank. ( or i will slash some tires lol )

Wow! I don't even own a gun or drugs AND I drive a boomcar. lol! I've never broke into any building unwanted. I've never purchased drugs or sex from any stranger or street corner. I'm a project leader at my place of employment and feedback says my team likes me and my attitude. Outside of the 1.5 year old running around but naked in my house, I'm the happiest one dwelling there. My wife surely appreciates when I come home and "bring the bacon" after a 12 hour shift. Car audio is a hobby for me. I enjoy working with my hands and like "listening" to the results.

I'm confused. Am I still a criminal?

Wow... I was Going to run off on this guy, but then I read the "Message to the Perpetrators" and it made sense. This person just hates themselves and their lives. It is just straight up funny, you should read it.
I must say that I do agree with SOME of what they say because yes, it isn't right for us to sit out front these peoples or even our own house cranking it to 11. And it isn't right to be knockin pictures off the wall in a residential area at 3am on a tuesday. But aside from that, If you're cruising down Lakeshore or other busy streets, Volume=Max. If you're flying down the highway, Volume=Max . If you're in an industrial/wide open country area, Volume=Max.
This person is so naive that they think that the worst thing in the world is to hear Bass booming throughout the land. In my opinion that's much better than constantly hearing Gunfire(like in other parts of the world), knowing with every burst someone could be dying... PLUS they failed to point out the ONLY negative point of having a loud system, You cannot hear Police/Ambulance/Fire Sirens... But if we are good drivers and check our rear view every 3 seconds and side mirrors every 10 like they said back when we got licenses then we can see them.
I think the only way to solve this is go half and half. We can have our "obnoxiously loud stereo systems", only if it they play Classical Music.. Ha, I don't care what they say, they will never stop me from listening to my bass.

*EDIT* . I was searching around and we need to be careful about these people, If enough people fight it, we could end Automotive Modification forever... first off, these people said they have no lives, and they wont have their lives back till the booming stops. THEN they started thanking MERA/SEMA for making America the best place to live (sarcastically). I remember seeing an ad in a Car Audio magazine and it was a SEMA ad saying help save our industry. If we abuse it by banging out everywhere, dropping the air ride and dragging the rear, putting on a huge lift kit and flipping the car due to center of gravity+speed, or anything else, it might just jeopardize our future, and our kids future to have a Custom Car made to their likings. I also hear that the cops are cracking down more on engine modification and other (but still allow stupid HID kits to be installed with halogen bulbs).

Sorry for such a long post.

True enough. I've been without a system since I got a new car 4 months ago, and I've been in withdrawl ever since

Well said, and I think we all agree. I wouldn't mind a law stating a 10am-8pm curfew with only up to $50 fines.

"Having a typical adolescent mindset, you refuse to hear what you don't want to listen to, regardless of its value or accuracy. You normally try to find the least little crack (perceived or otherwise) in a statement and argue it to death just to be right, and miss the entire point in the process."

Then later...

"The DC sniper had the right to own and use a gun. His rights ended where the lives of others were affected. He abused his rights."

I think this person missed the entire point in the process by comparing us to the DC sniper, what a moron. I'm not going to worry, car audio isn't going anywhere, but if it's abused than we'll have tough penalties for the casual listener and that's wrong. Like imagine getting points off your licence for 130db.
