It would help if he said what subs he had...

I gave a pair of 2002 MA XE12s 2x rated power, and they handled it for 4 or 5 hours before they let out any smoke....

Replaced the coils with ones from a JLW3... they were really close in size...

I also tried burping the biggest Thump! 15 on a peavy 1.3K (2000RMS bridged @ 4ohm)...

I was really hoping it would surprise me... but I only got the volume up 1/3way for about 8seconds before she smoked...

The other one I had seemed to work well with about 100RMS... got pretty loud considering... rattles the back of my buddies trunk pretty good...

Hey, we even won first place at the last Texas Heatwave with our Visonik subs and SPL amps... If you look up the USACi score for that event we are listed as Power Line in the 1001-5000 Super Modified class... We ran two 15" subs and two SPL 2400D amps and 4 Workaholic 8v batts with a Pioneer head unit and Audiobahn EQ/Line Driver...

Here is our SoundDomain site...

hi i am from the uk and all i can say is that MA amps are awesome i am running 4 HK4000's up my 2 DD9917's
i am running them at 18 volts
in testing i was and still am getting over 5000rms out of each ampi am the official uk db drag record holder in SS1-2
currently ranked 6th in europe and 11th in the world
i think maybe your problem could be is that the equipment is only as good as the person who fitted it
so all you negative people might want to consider getting someone qualified to fit and set up your systems for you
always beware the person who slates something he or she does not sell as that person may never have actually had any dealings with the product!!!

well i have a ma 1302 high current amp and i have over the past year had these speaker configurations.
1. 2 audiopipe 12's melted
2. 2 volfenhag 12's melted
3. 1 ma xl 12 ported box still running
4 2 ma d6 10's and 1ma d6 12 still have and still run strong
5. 2 ma d6 10's and 1 ma xl 12 still have and still can run at any time
6. 3 audiopipe 15's melted
7. 2 ma xl 12's running currently
everything ma i still have and can put it at anytime.

a friend had a ma SY7011DX 1800 watt and the only thing he could run on it was ma everything else melted

so in my opinion ma is a great brand, and when i finally decide to get a sponsership i will be going with ma and the hard kore 15's and 4 802SX 4400 watts a piece

honestly MA does make decent equipment..but dont expext quality equipment from XS Cargo where you buy equipment that has either sat around for several years in a warehouse or has been refurbished. new MA equipment purchased from an AUTHORIZED MA dealer actually doesnt blow up and works rather well...just my 2c worth from experience installed both XS special and NEW MA direct... the MA direct stuff holds up to par. XS special is a 50% death rate in under 1 week, 25% within a month the other 25% seems to work ok... take your pick

I always hear people discussing MA Audio and Audiobahn in the scope of "...for entry level gear, it isn't bad..."
or "for inexpensive/budget stuff, it isn't bad..."

I've been working (bus. strategies) at a shop that sells MA Audio and Audiobahn - and it's NOT cheap. This shop has the lowest prices around (located on the US side of the border), and still, there are numerous MA Audio models over $200, $300, $400 dollars...
Sure, if you look, you can find an MA Audio sub for $100 - but is THAT the sub that you would say "...it isn't bad, for the money."??
THAT is the sub that is the clunker.

IMO, it's simply overpriced.
Yes, you can find subs, and amps, in MA Audio's line that work well - but you'll pay for them - and likely a premium!

...And Audiobahn seems to be exactly the same deal, just more chrome.
Just my opinion/observation.

There is a 'premium' price on anything you buy retail

Unfortunaly my goal is SQL and .55ohm is a little low for that amp IMO... They also seem to be only for SPL... Linear excursion of 35mm P-P is pretty sucky if you ask me...

Anyone know if excursion is limited by the suspension (next model down has the same Xmax?) or are they capable of much more Xsus ??
I put one of those 12's in my brothers s-10 and it sounds like ***! NO SQ at all. Oh and its runnin off the MA 600rms amp as well. But for $200 what can you expect.
