Realize this fact. You are nobody to the dealer on the other end of the phone. They can tell you whatever price they want to and then if you show up will tell you something entirely different. The question is, do you beleive what you are told as a customer by a dealer who could care less about you? While your close proximity to the border makes it worth just popping over into the states to pick something up, for the vast majority of others that value Canadian business and warranty will shop in Canada. As a Canadian dealer myself and having talked with you, please consider this. Why should I be helping you when you are taking your business to the US? Is it because I am a nice guy? Is there any value placed upon a Canadian dealer who does help the customer? You have some decisions to make. The first is to realize that you beleive what you hear. If I was a sleazeball dealer, I would quote you stupid low on a product that I did not have in stock as well, this way it gets you in the door for the ol bait and switch. Of course I would not do this, but it happens all the time, especially in the larger US market.
