A dealer can sell for whatever they like. Retail is a suggestion only. I do not sell at retail for example, I am below retail by a good sight these days. At the same time, what if the manufacturer puts something on sale for example. I as a dealer am a customer to the distributor, much like you are a customer to me. If I put something on sale, you reap the rewards, correct? What if the distributor put something on sale and the retailer put something on sale? To me that screams a scorching red hot fire sale, get them while they are here. Perhaps this is exactly what has happened in your case, yet you took it as excessive markup. Personally speaking, Power Acoustik is far from a great speaker line, if a line is selling on the merits of it's name to increase pricing, I have a big problem with that line. This is one of the reasons why Soundstream is not in my store.

see your taking it that im bashing your store No, not one bit because I didnt trust you you think would have called you more then once. no and thats why i wont name where im buying from. All i know is that there no hot. first thing that came to my mind also. Like i said you can take it anyway you want. if people want to know where i bought them they can do the amount of searching that i did. Unwise im not here to bash no vender Im not going to busniess away from local shops. Im not trying to upsell anyone.

Personally i like the sound to Soundstream. and Im keeping my car to the same company. Only thing that i didnt like about Soundstream was there decks. so i went with my Alpine.

No I was not taking it that you were bashing a store, I don't see that anywhere in the thread for that matter. I also was not saying that the speakers were stolen, I was saying that it could be taken as a "SCREAMING RED HOT FIRE SALE - GET THEM WHILE THEY LAST - SPECIAL PURCHASE" which leaves you the customer saving a crapload of cash. In a case like this when you see the retail being $299 and you pay less than $100.00 for the same thing, without knowing the reasons as to why the price difference may be so large, it is easy as a consumer to think that you are getting the shaft when fact of the matter unbenounced to you is that the manufacturer put them on sale.

Things like this happen all the time. I get deals on stuff offered to me almost every week. Last week it is was MB Quart offering some Q line component speaker for a stupid price (and I mean stupid stupid stupid price). I bought all that they had, I like deals as much as the next guy does. The way I view it is simple, If I save some $ buying them, my customer saves $ buying them from me. Does this make sense now?

I'm just going to go ahead and close this one right now.... we don't need to rehash the 'online vs retailer' debate again.

They each have their good points and their bad points.

To question a retailer on why he HAS to mark things up is ridiculous though. If you can't answer the question yourself then no one here will be able to do it for you.
