Depends on the situation. The law is a little... "Special" about this sort of thing in BC. and this is not my only security measure. Besides, who's going to have a better lawyer? Me or the crack head trying to get in my car? In the end, if the judge does want to punish me for this, then I accept the consequences of my actions.

Personally I think it's the other wounds the criminal is inflicted with that they will send me away for. But I don't like talking about this sort of thing. Back to the screen.
- - - -

The screen for the most part displays the song titles of the MP3s I'm playing. I've been pulled over with it on and he was more worried about the lit up winshield spray nozle things I had put on. So I cut the wire right there and appologized and asked where I could find the motorvehicles act for BC and he spluttered and couldn't state his sources. So I went to investigate.

If you go to the police station and ask for a copy of the motorvehicles act, they can't tell you where to find it. Go to the DMV, they send you to the queeensprinters.com or something. You get a "Draft" version there and it says nothing about lights. You can see a copy of it at the public library, but good luck having someone show you where it is.

"Ignorance is not a valid excuse for breaking the law." By those words, it is the responsability of the individual to learn the law before action.

There's so much stuff NOT written down cops write tickets for that it's sick and so easy to go and say "NO" in court for... If you don't get a cop that lies anyway. That's a conversation for a different thread though.

I don't like to cut into my car so everything I did is 100% reversabile. The only thing I couldn't put back to original is the screen itself because a) I cut off the mounting posts and b) I threw the ugly *** casing away.

You didn't look very hard. This took literally a single search and about 30seconds of my time.
Entire Motor Vehicle Act

Div4: Lamps

There is no set catagory for things like underglow neon or wiper lights so you are left to the interpretation of the officer and the court - neither of which is usually in your favor. Color IS very specific though so if your wiper lights were anything other than amber or white and visible from the front or side of the vehicle, they are illegal in every way.

I guess I didn't look very hard. Or at least I looked hard down the wrong paths. The cop that talked to me was most worried about the color and I did ask if I were to get white ones would it work and he said, kind of miffed at the loop hole, that it would be okay.

I I never did get around to buying white ones.

Thanks for the link I'm printing that sucker off and keeping it in my car.

Update on situation. I'm going to hold off on working on my car until I get a new camera. My last one got cracked somehow.

This week I'm just changing the window regulator when it shows up. window doesn't go down or up anymore.

Update: I got a new camera so I'm starting again.

Some things showed up a couple of weeks ago.

1. My 2 new G2 10" boston subs.
2. I picked up a box for them (I'm going with a box just to save time and I'll fiberglass another day and in the b2200. For my car I want the sound improvment and weight loss now.
3. My new Alpine V12 3553 showed up.

I still need 6" boston Pro's but I'll make due with what I have until I find a sick buy.

I'm starting on putting the MDF rings together. I missplaced my jigsaw and tried my scrolls saw, but that's a pain. I'm going to use my circle cutter this weekend I think.

Any tips on making Rings?

Oh yeah... When the 2 10" G2 bostons showed up, I put them in the box and went to go put them in my car for a "test" and I slipped on a binder on the stairs and went down hard.

I held tight to the sub box and they barely moved. Me on the other hand I messed up my back and neck really good so I've been out of commission for a week and I'm going slow these days.

Accidents happen but we move on.

Thanks
I'm looking forward to adding to it. I'm still trying to get my hands on some nice Boston Pro SE 6.5's I'm checking a place in the states again and asking about import duties etc.

There's nothing with a reasonable price in canada it seems and the few who got in touch with me never replied again.
