That’s right boys and girls, the monster is real and it’s coming. Here is a picture of it in the last stages of research and development.

Question, why would it be tested in a street application?

It is oveously over the window line, so a SS setup. Doesn't dB Drag rules state that a sub can not be over 18" in diameter, so what good is it, to a competitor?

It looks inpesive though.

What makes you think MTX had a competitor in mind when they okayed the design? Do you think they don't know the rules? If you read the press on it MTX says this sub is for the few sports stars etc, that don't want the same sub a 16 year old kid has. I doubt they really expect to sell many of them, they are more to say, we can and DID build it so there. I expect that some of the engineering will trickle down to their lower lines and that is what will make this sub worth it in the end. </font>
BINGO!

DB Drag or any Competition is an extremely small segment of the market. DB drag or SPL had nothing to do with why this was made. This is a statement piece for those who want something others cant have.

But Derek one thing you were wrong on. "They will sell more than a few, the back order list is quite large!"

Yes it is a " We can build it and you cant" subwoofer.

They now have the sledgehammer enclosure for that woofer in the pic! "yes boys, a prefab box!"

I didn't pour over them, but I don't think there is any rule against woofers larger than 18"

Anyways, that's obviously not the point of this woofer. What I'd love to hear is that beast ported to about 20 hz in 8 cubes or so
