for 129.99 at future shop...worth the money? And can 2 of these compete with other brands at sound offs? I plan on using a ported box if possible runnin of my kenwood 600 watt amp

those are deadly subs for the money. when i did the price tags yesterday i thought those prices were typos. locally we've had the loudest car in town before with MTX 6000 subs (12-12" subs in the backseat of a 94 protege) 2 10's in a ported box should hammer pretty good in your car.

i'm pretty sure that my box is way wrong for them(box was custom built for a firebird with other subs, now in my camaro) but i have 2 12" 6000's and they sound pretty bad. i'd take my 1 10" rockford punch HX2 over the two of them anyday. and my rf is in a very small sealed box compared to a large ported one. out of curiosity how big should a ported box be for these subs? i know this box is bad, i can tell by the 4inch port that's only 5 inches long

how big is your box? The port could be the problem

The Pioneer TS-W255Cs are better subs for the money, IMO, and also happen to cost $30 less.

MTX 6000's are nice subs. I've never heard them ported, but sealed, they sound quite good. That seems like a great price for the sub.
