I've got the MTX 6000 12" right now in a ported box and they sound great but they aren't the loudest subs. I've had the pioneer subs before and they are very loud subs (144.7db) with about 350watts RMS but they sounded like junk. If yuo want loud and ugly go to Pioneer, if you want alright loud, good sound and Chrome go to the MTX.

Oh yeah the Pioneer subs were 2 TS-W254C's and the box was 2.8 cubic feet total.

MTX is always trying to be a big dog but never will be. The Premiers are better, Rockfords embarrass MTX and Kicker has better subs than MTX as well. They may be good "for the money" but i would suggest hopping on the internet and tracking down a kickass deal on some better subs, rather than going to Futureshop for my sh*t. If you need a website to start with try www.Etronics.com, they ship to canada using canada post so shipping is very little and they have most brands of car audio for cheap. They have a Canadian Checkout so u know what the price is exactly shipped in Canadian funds. I can get a Pioneer Premier TS-W2000spl shipped for $261 and i can get 2 Kicker L5 10's for around $400 shipped. I think you could do way better than any MTX sub for the money.

rockford and kicker are better because he read it on this or some forum. Now its the bible, truth is he wouldnt be able to tell a differance in a blind test

it all depends on what your budget is, The mtx are a great deal for that money.

you got something against rfx 8"S dereck?

slow-naw...sounds more like a "cause my buddy told me" story...

You dont get to be a company the size of mtx, or as well respected in the car audio industry by getting 'blown out of the water' by all the other companys out there. Go for the warantee, and a reputable company. When you buy from an actual shop, they will support you. Id like to see the webmaster from www.etronics.com come tune your amp, or help you find what freq to burp right before an spl contest.

Yes, good deal. I had a 6000 in their Neon-designed enclosure for my last car. Very happy in how it performed, was well worth the money. Didn't require too much power to run it effectively and sounded great.
