Question Multi-Question Mayhem

Here are my questions:

#1 - If you have a DVC sub rated at dual 1 ohm, would it be possible to wire each coil to a separate amp, presenting a 1 ohm load to each amp (assuming of course they would be daisy-chained and producing the same signal). ... instead of having to go down to .5 ohms or up to 2 ohms into a single amp?

#2 - I don't have enough height in my trunk to allow for mounting any sub larger than a 12" horizontally, so that it can face the front or rear. If I were to pick up a 15" sub and face it so that it fires upwards, and have the ports firing towards the rear of the trunk, would it be a waste of money? I know it's a common practice in a hatchback, but in the trunk of my little saturn SC1 I don't know if it would work well or not. Yeah, it's probably hard to hypothesize, and I know there are a million other factors, but I was just wondering if there were any rules of thumb or something...

#1 yes it will work
#2 yes it will also work but....

i personaly would not do an up fireing set up in a trunk install. but it will work. what you may want to think about is putting a slanted front on the box. that way you may be able to mount a 15" driver no problem.

Both amps need to have the same output voltage as to not damage the sub. Use a volt-meter on the amp's speaker output with the speakers disconnected. Set the gains so the voltages of two amps match.

cheers
