My first audio system

Hey everyone, i've been doing some research on a new audio system for my car. I've decided to go with Clarion because ive heard they make good audio components. These are the components im looking at right now.

Component Brand Model Price
Front Speakers (6.5") Clarion SRR1616 $70.00
Rear Speakers (6.5") Clarion SRR1616 $70.00
Deck Clarion DXZ575USB $250.00
SubWoofer (12") Clarion PXW1252 $210.00
Amp Clarion APX1300 $270.00

Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated! thanks!

Buy what you like and install it! People always hate on things that you may like. For example, 95% of the people on here will say Sony Sucks! BUT I ran sony everything for a few years and I thought it was amazing. I didn't buy it from Crappy Tire though mind you...

I'm currently running a clarion touch screen dvd and had a glide touch deck as well from clarion but sold recently for money as I'm broke haha. I LOVE my clarion decks! So I bet their speakers are good as well, but I have a preference

Thumbs up

Sounds like a pretty decent list....

Just because I like to fiddle with more things, I would add a 4channel amp for the mids and highs......

Remember that 90% of the sound comes from the install......a little sound deadener in the doors and the right box for that sub will keep you happily bumping for a long time.....

What kind of car & what box are you using?
You don't mention the most important component either: the installation.
The system will probably be OK, however you are looking at well over $1k, which seems kind of high, seeing as you will ultimately be listening to $70 speakers.

That seems to be a nice list! Go forth and enjoy setting it up!
