Thumbs up my first setup! progress report... :P

Sounds bad, but happy to say i put in my very first HU today... alpine ida-x200 receiver using a 8gb flash drive. works awsome and it was easier to install than i thought, even having to hookup a harness and new dash kit. using stock speakers for now. Anyways wiring for the amp is near done (4ga. wire, remote wire, rca's, etc. installed)... the two re se 10's are wired parallel in a sealed enclosure. Just waiting on the aq1200d to get shipped here and the 150amp fuse/holder... hopefully by this coming Tuesday it'll arrive. anyways i'll post some pics after it's all done if anyone is interested. I know it's not 1/2 the system that some of you guys here have, but hey it's my first! :P Thanks everyone for their advice on these forums and threads. I couldn't have made it this far without you guys! my g/f should be a happy camper atfer this is all done.

Changing new equipment is fine, it's when you start accumulating stuff for your next setup and don't even get to install it before getting new stuff for your next next setup.

Yay! Hooked up and working.

Finally got the amp today! Sure sounds nice with the subs.

One thing though... I get a nice red flashing light on the distortion/clipping indicater when I crank the volume over 20 on the HU lol. Do i need to worry about blowing my subs from the clipping?

Again I'm using 2 RE SE 10's (600 RMS each) and the AQ1200D running the subs parallel at 1 ohm.

I noticed the deck powered off briefly after uping the volume to 28. Don't get me wrong, it's loud and pounds great but not as much as I expected... :P

I still have to do the "big 3" upgrade too as I noticed high bass causes my lights to dim pretty good... no biggie though. I'll tackle that in the next day or so.

Wait until you get the big 3 done before you judge your system. It can make a huge difference on some vehicles, depending on what was used from the factory. My truck had factory 8 gauge, so going to double 0 gauge was a night and day difference. My upgrade may sound a bit overkill, but it was a requirement with the equipment that I run to avoid to much voltage drop.
