I can finaly answer this!
It is because in series, you put less load on the amp. Ex. you have 2 DVC 4ohm subs, and in series, if I am correct...they are producing a 4ohm load . Meanwhile, if in Parallel, it would produce a 1ohm load, drawing more power.....

Yes, in series your amp is putting out far less power. Try in parrallel again and your lights will likely start dimming again. As for the volume either you THINK its louder but it really isn't because you turned up the bass or boost or gain, or the box is just alot better suited than the previous one and the box is compensating for the loss in power

and i set it up the way alpine type-x manual said just to try it out and im liking it lol

i wrote that post last night i was tired lol....
i dont have a speaker amp... cus my deck is old and dont have the outputs for a speaker amp so im upgrading that, alternator sub amp and speakers within the next couple of months
