My setup, your thoughts ? any help appreciated.

hi guys, was offered a "DLS w712 DM" and a Soundstream t5 12" at a 100$ each with enclosure ( each in its own )
used to have 2 w712 double magnet dls´s in a huge ported box back in ´99 and loved them but this t5 looks the part to..
Need to keep the enclosure as small as possible this time around.
only going to use one of these.. witch would you recommend ?
also.. ss tarantula 9x6 or dls 1070 ?

currently using 2 Genesis stereo 100´s, one for front speakers(soundstream tarantula) one for the back ( soundstream tarantula 6x9) and a Genesis dual mono bridged intended for a sub. Was offered a DLS ca51 amp very cheap (80$) , would that be better for this setup ?
Isn´t the DLS A7 more on par with this Genesis setup ?
Always loved Genesis amps even though they are a bit expensive but if the CA51 is just as good or better then i´ll probably buy that one, sell the Genesis amps and pocket 500$
Also thinking of switching out the tarantula 6x9´s for a dls 1070... what do you think ?

Any help greatly appreciated, been out of the game for quite some time.

You wanna match the sub to what kind of box you wanna run. Check our manufactures specs like air space etc ported or sealed. Then match what sub to power handling for what power you have on hand.also keep in mind one important spec is sensativity usually measure db/m or something which means when tested how loud will that aubwoofer be at 1 watt at 1 meter the higher the sensativity the lower the sub should get off lower power. Ie a sub with 100 db/m with the exact same power as a 85 db/m speaker. The 100 db/ speaker will, if all things being equal should be louder

The T5 looks a lot more impressive on paper. Higher Xmax, higher power handling, bigger voice coil. I'd grab it over the DLS any day. But you'd need a decent monoblock to power it. Look around for something that can do 600-1000w RMS at 1 ohm for it.

In fact, that Genesis Dual mono will do 500w at 4 ohm bridged. The Soundstream T5 claims dual 2 ohm voice coils, so you could connect it in series to get a 4 ohm load, and run it at 500w RMS. That'd already be a great start. Definitely go for the T5.
