Ok so right now i have taken out my subs and amp for the winter to get better gas mileage on my commute to school everyday. My system wasnt very fancy to begin with: Amp screwed to back of seat, half a piece of plywood holding up my un painted un carpeted sub box. This winter i want to use my creativity to create something different and get my system looking nice for the spring.

I was thinking of carpeting my box but cant find the time to go out a buy some carpet plus i dont know how to carpet it. I figure id try sumtin different everyone has a carpeted box. Fiberglass is out of the question, dont got the resources. So heres my idea tell me if u think it would look nice:

Im going to cover the box in a White Vinyl and instal 4 black lights in my trunk. How would u think this would look? And how do i vinyl my sub box lol?

about the gas mileage part....
i gotta do that every winter too...take out the heavy stuff and put in something just for a little bump and not a lot of boom - but enough to satify my spl needs over the winter. but what i found is that the money i save in gas with the lighter load is evened out by the extra few minutes i spend to warm up the car and driving slower on the slippery streets.

also, i gotta take out the heavy stuff to get a little tracktion - front wheel drive doesn't like heavy trunks on the winter roads.

anyway, about the winter setup...go with whatever is econ, not flashy...who really shows off looks in the winter?

actually if your car is rear wheel drive it might be good to have your box in it , weighs down the car so u dont get stuck in the snow , or u can get a 4x4 and do donuts on fields or make snowmans

I think my car weighs about 1340kg.. the system probably adds another 50kg... haven't really noticed any diff in fuel economy or performance...

Sure vinyl is nice, but what about hardwood ? I'd love to see a box finished in a cherry or birch hardwood!! Expensive?...yes. Ultracool?...absolutely!
