N00b w/ Questions (HU's and Dampening)!

First off, hi to everyone. Looking for a little info, probably questions that have been asked before! I'm going to be getting an Impreza in the summer to replace my current car and want to rip the stereo out and change it within the first week. Wife has an RS right now and it's pretty much the worst stock stereo I've heard. I'm interested in Alpine and JVC AR decks. I need decent pwr to 4 channels since I only want to run my amp for my sub (have sub/amp already). I need an AUX in for my Sat radio, which I want to keep as an external unit so I can bring it around with me. Speakers I'm probably looking at Infinity or MB for the fronts and stock rears faded down, others to look at?

My biggest question comes with dampening. Lots of rattles in an impreza it seems so I'd like to dampen the doors, trunk lid and maybe trunk floor (it'll be a wagon). How much material will I need and where should I look?

Any help will be great, thanks!

Welcome to the board. I have been happy with my Infinity speakers, I am not a true audiophile like a lot of people on this board though. As far as sound deadening goes, this is your best bet(you are in Canada I assume?) http://www.b-quiet.com/index.html

Good luck!

Shouldn't sell yourself short man.... You may be surprised, maybe not in yourself, but in the taste of some of the "audiophiles"..

Anyhoo - yeah, hit the B-Quiet website.
