1) yes, better to use RCA's
2) JL 300/4 is an excellent sounding amp. I wouldn't switch up but that's just me.

Yeah I agree. sounds like using the High-level inputs.stick to the single pre-out with a splitter. or get a new HU.

I do like nakamichi sound, is the bigger model come with more than one pre-out ? and do they have time alignment on bigger one ? I think it a key features lacking on this one.

but I was wondering, if I use a splitter for those 2 ch what can I do for a sub ?

would I need to use something like an external processor to simplifying my "problem".

Man Id hate to say it, but I think you need a different HU if you plan on running a 4-ch and a sub amp. It can be done but wont sound very good at all. I had the 45z back in the day. that badboy had triple 4volt pre-outs.At the same time they had a 40z model that ,I think, only came with 1 set of pre-outs. so the answer to your question is yes, they do have a higher model with more then one pre-out.

You could do it all with one RCA.... as long as your sub amp has a RCA output. Run the RCA from your deck to the sub amp, then out to the JL 300/4 set to 2ch. That will work, you'd just have to set everything properly on the amps.
