need help choosing system

hello everybody, Im new here, ive been scrolling through the forums for quite a while now and its nice to see that everybody here helps everybody out with questions or any problems they might have. My first big question is that i have a 2003 ford ranger ext cab. Right now im running 1 JL 12w3v2 sub and the alpine mrp-m350 amp which is 350rms x 1 @ 2 ohms. Im looking to upgrade and these are my options so far. I kinda got my heart set on the JL 500/1 amp and for the sub either the JL 12w6v2 or the alpine type x 12. Ive heard both of the subs off of this amp and i was very impressed. It seemed that the type x put out more but the guy at the local shop said that my box would be big and ugly and that the box would have to built so that it is above my back window on the inside which I didnt really like that idea at all. So then he suggested the 12w6v2 and use the sealed box that i have right now which is about 1.7 cu ft. He said to keep the sealed box because its going in a daily driver and im never gonna enter comps. on the other hand i was thinking about checking out kicker. possibly a kx 600.1 and either an L7 or L5 12" and get a ported box built. so as u can see im very confused right now and i need help, so please help he!
my name is ryan and i am from calgary and i look forward to hearing from all u guys.

Hey Ryan,
I had a 12" Type X for a while powered by a US-Amps DE-1000. I loved the combo, but you are going to need to do some sound deadening to make it worthwhile. When you crank up that bass, you will notice every creak and rattle in the car because they will buzz like mad. Also, if you decide to get the Type X, it should be put into a ported box. I hear these subs have a tendency to wreck when in a sealed enclosure.
Good luck!
