Need Help Deciding What Amp

Wink Need Help Deciding What Amp

hey guys, i was wondering which one of these two amps would best power an old JL 12W6, its dual 6 ohm so it would be a 3 ohm load, any help would be appreciated thanks guys justin

MTX definately
the ken wood amp is a lower end model

lowest acceptable wattage for woofer

<sigh> would give a few more watts in my opinion

I have a 10w6 old ver and it likes 100-200 watts per coil (200-400) nominal power handling.. either of those 2 amps would power it alright but for 350 $ bux.. with that being said i'm sure if you looked in the classifieds on here you could find an amp in that power range for around 100-150$ .. sometimes people even sell them under warranty still..

I would get the kenwood amp for the JL sub of yours

but if u asked me i would not get any of the 3 items u have listed but thats just me

do you think i got a good deal, i got a 12w6 perfect shape, and a box, for $120 cnd? and also, what should i be feeding the w6 at all times?

Actually most woofers are designed to run at no more than max power, hense the rating. I run my woofers at max power and don't expect any issues. If I run them at more than max power, I could see some problems. The box is what's important, just because a woofer is rated at so many watts it doesn't mean it will handle it in the box you're running. There are so many variables in car audio ratings can be a joke. 100 watts in 1 box, 300 in another.
