I just want to max out my amp, and after talking to everyone locally these seem like the ticket. I mean 300 is cheap compared to buying them new for 600 or more. i am still spinning, i hate to miss out on a good deal. everyone said either get these or jl subs, but the jl are said to blow up?

ha i could pull a fast one here at the last second on you and potentially double my profit later on in the spring when people start looking for equipment... but since your new to the forum ill let it slide this time. ha welcome! be careful posting "good deals" cuz people WILL ****** em up

Well, like I'm trying to get at, there's more out there than just Kicker and JL. If you come to one of the local shows this summer, you'd have an idea of what's out there, even more so than picking up a car audio mag (which does help though).

They work, my coworker already drove there and met the guy who tested them. From what I get he doesnt like the sound of the sub not that that makes sense to me. I mean its s subwoofer, the whole idea is bass right? There was a box but from what Don told me it was made wrong and not sealed so basically the subs are new, he just wasnt happy with them and the online place he got them from would not return them after the 30 days. My buddy said they sound good, would sound better in the right box wired to my amp. I will try to get the link, what is the proper required box size? I can only have a box 12 3/8 tall but have 4 ft of width. thanks
The box will play a role, but you will find some subs sound different than others on the same power, even if the difference is only subtle. You might get more out of them with your amp, but try not to "max it out" in case you damage the subs.
In any case, I have no idea what the Kicker specs are, but I think 10''s go in a 1.2ish cu ft box if ported, so about 2.5 cubes. Sealed I have no idea other than smaller.
JL is the best though.

I did check a couple of the mag, and saw sooo many different subs for sale. alot of word of mouth was for the JL W6 I think, and then the kicker. I checked out the reviews on the JL and it said the cone was weak and prone to breaking. I kinda want something rugged as I can afford?

"lol" clearly you dont know kids in the country will buy anything. i know exactly what they are worth so before trying to make a snide remark understand what is written between the lines and im helping the guy out not taking his subs. and if u said there "worth" 300$ then buying them for 200 and selling them is 50% profit.. not double like i said but ill take it anyday. so relax and worry about what your doing not what i'm doing.
