Dont know if your all familiar but, i have a avic- Z 2 which retails for 2200$ its a double din. Now ive done other installs on my car includeing 3 radios, amp, subs, ect, so im not completely new, but im no expert. Ok, so i wanted to test out if the radio works first, so i hooked up only red and yellow from the harness to the cars power, and black from the harness to the cars ground. Now, here is where i may have made a mistake: the parking brake wire (light green) i connected to ground (the same ground wire as the normal black ground from the harness) because everyone says that this is how to get stuff to work when the car is not in park. Even though theres a tag that tells you to connect it to the power side of the parking brake)

After i connected these wires, nothing happened... the radio didnt even turn on. I noticed that when i touched the steel part of the radio to and other metal, it made sparks shoot out. Now i know this definetly isnt normal... is there any reason why sparks would fly out when any metal on the radio touches any other metal?

did i fry the radio? i have the service plan on the radio, i just do not want to use it this fast...
