need help...re xxx 12 or jl audio 12w7(with zapco c2k 6.0x)
#1
I am new here and fairly new to high end car audio. I am changing the stock system in my car and have decided to install the following
Alpine CDA 9835
MBQuart PCE 216
MBQuart PCE 213 (rear)
Zapco C2K 4.0X four channel amp
Zapco C2K 6.0X two channel amp (for the sub)
now here is where i am confused......
should i go for a RE audio XXX 12 inch sub or a JL audio 12 W7.
Also, i have the option of putting Fosgate power series amps but i suppose the Zapco's are a better choice.
Please help!!

As for the sub I would suggest listening to both drivers as they sound completely different.

I would get the XXX personally.
-SQ on par with the W7
-can be had in dual 4ohm coil's to get all the power out of that amp unlike the W7 which will be stuck at 3ohm
-cheaper than the W7
-easier/cheaper to get re-coned/repaired than the W7

the XXX and the W7 do sound completely different. the XXX is an extremely transparent bass, it sounds so accurate sometimes the sub just seems to disappear... if that is what you are looking for, great. The W7 isn't quite the same idea at all, it is very very punchy even at really high volumes.
