Need help with speakers!
#1
Hey,
I'm having a problem with my speakers, only the two right ones are putting out sound, the left ones put out very, very little. I just bought new rca's. Would they be dead? And no my radio isn't set to put the sound on the right side
Thanks.

If you just swapped out the RCA cables and the problem started, I'd say thats a good place to start looking It's possible that one of the RCA's is shorted out, or simply defective. I would try swapping out the RCAs and see if the problem persists. If it continues, it's possible that there is a problem with the pre-outs on your deck. It could also be a problem with your amp. if you have another old amp around, you could hook it up briefly to see if the problem continues.
Since the problem could be with multiple components, I guess it's just a process of elimination until you find the cause. RCAs are a good starting point though in your situation.

Go to the amp and switch the rca sides (L to R, R to L). If the problem reverse's (right ones now quieter) then you know the problem is before the amp and likely the rca's. If it doesn't help, it's from the amp to the speakers.
It's a lot faster way to diagnose the problem without having to actually switch in new gear to find it (ie. trial and error).
