Wow. Never thought of that

You will turn up the rears louder to reach the same percieved volume. So why not use less power and less volume on the fornts, have better sound quality, better imaging, better staging, better REALism?

Just beacuse the sound is originating from behind you doesn't magicly cause the sound to be less harmful.

i find it funny that all the posts on this subject
if i had a cavalier the first thing about front stage is
size of speakers
what size are they
would you be happy with a typical 3 1/2 or 4x6 for front speakers
me i know i wouldn't so the use of rear speakers greatly helps in this application
i'd like to see ya's get good sound from 3 1/2's and a pair of subs

I've better things to spend my money on than drugs So no thanks.

G-Money I'm not a guy and Quinte = Belleville.

JRace - Because I like to hear it differently than others. And whether you want to believe it or not yes it makes a difference from the rear to me personally. I would appreciate if you cut the sarcasm thanks.

Pinhead - I like 6x9's "To each their own".

Terry,

I once owned a 96 Cavalier -- Dukk is right, get an adapter and put in some 5.25" or 6.5" with a tweeter you can aim -- some dampening material behind the speaker will greatly improve mid bass too. If budget allows amp the front/and or back. You will find that 6x9" usually player louder than 5.25" or 6.5" because 6x9" in a more efficent size. I would try this first -- if you still want to amp the rears, go for it, it is your car afterall.

On your 2001 it has 4x6s mounted to plastic plates in the doors. We just yesterday had a Sunfire in that we put Quart 6.5" coaxials in the door, behind the factory panel. An adaptor/spacer ring, a little metal surgery and it was good to go and sounded way better than the 4x6s.
No I know I was generally saying to each their own to the general gist of the whole thread lol Just happened to be in the same spot as my response to him.

I haven't got a ton of money to invest in fronts as i said Ilike rears lol, my stock stereo is not to bad at all but yea lets be serious I need equipment i can rely on lol What brand Dukk would u recommend up front ?
