Need some advice

Im looking to add a sub and amp to my car, nothing too crazy I just have no bass whatsoever right now. I'm looking to put a JL W6v2 10 in a sealed box and run it with the JL 500/1 amp. Does anyone have a similar system to this to tell me how it sounds? This guy I know has a W7 and said that the 500/1 amp would not be enough to power the W6. ANy advice about this or a system that may suit me better would be great.
