the power of the sub will be lost because the fire wall in the car
ok how can i say this ........... the sub boxs are not squair boxes
one side is say A =12x12 b 12x9 C 12x12 D and E are tapered with F 12x ?
9+144=153/squair root will give you ?
the # i posted will not work for the sub but if you make a box that i posted you will see if you have 2 of them you can have the boxs meet up so the cut out looks like a V .
the subs will be in the V face of the boxs.
if you get a sub box form the store that is a pre made box place it in the trunk the firewall will acked like a port where the ski hole is I E you will have a 8th order bandpass box that was not set up right .
if you get 1 sub in a sealed box move it up to the hole so the sub does not hit the wall or hole and cut some wood so it tapers with the firewall and have the armrest down all the time that will work
going back to the V if you look into the hole where the skibag was you will see 2 subs as if you looked at a V form the top of it

Re: Shape you get a square box cut one side at an angle so it is tapered lower then the other sides. The side you cut off is now where the sub will go when you add a new top.

Next Thing is that i need help choosing subs and i want to know how much a custom box will cost , a box which is good for SPL dont care for SQ and is also good on Low end frequencies. I was thinking of buying 2 Alpine Type R's but for some reason i hate them and im a big fan of Premier and Cerwin Vega. Which subs should i get something which could be heard from 2 blocks away ?

Last is that Should i get a Kicker L7's enclosed factory system and amplify it with a Hifonics BXi2008D amp , says 2000 watts RMS @ 1ohm but its overrated and probably puts out around 1800@ 1 ohm . I want the subs to be good on Low end bass , which enclosure will be good and how much will it cost ?

I live in Kitchener Ontario and my target is SPL , Btw my budget is 1000 MAX including box or 1100 not more then that , and im buying everything online , except the box . Btw what do you think of RE Audio subs are they any good , heard there AMAZINGLY Loud , im getting 2 for 350 with shipping from a site is that a good deal ?

And i want something which gets noticed , serious Bass btw the wiring is already done in the car and there is no Power problems .
Stock usually sucks any way you put it, but the fronts should sound decent with an aftermarket deck, even better if it has an EQ. Still, they won't compare to aftermarket, and a component amp will power aftermarket fronts better than a deck will, it's not a mess, when you have a good front stage, it's as equally enjoyable as the lows, especially midbass, stuff like 100-800hz, packs that punch in songs. I have stock fronts and lowered all freq and turned up 3000hz+ so it lacks hardcore below that, but you could turn it up higher without distorting. You can find aftermarket 5.25" speakers, and they'd probably be pretty cheap. If you want a decent setup, don't buy from futureshop, you won't find it, I had 2 RF 300W RMS 12's and they were . I know someone with 4 of them on 1200W and my old xxx 12 is louder and sounds better. You get what you pay for (which wasn't much at all - $350). If you listen to rap mostly, you'll want SQ. If you're listening to a song and it has a bass drop from 60hz to 20hz and it cuts out half way, it sucks. If you can't distinguish kicks through a bassline, it sucks. If you want something impressive, 2 12's or 1 15 and 3000W should do it, and I wouldn't buy an SPL woofer, buy SQL, RE XXX, treo SSX, Fi, T3. Try to find old RE XXX's, they're great for rap. 2 12's would be nuts. BTW with 1000W, you can barely hear it outside the car, especially if your trunk rattles. It takes a lot to get loud.

You can change the speakers for cheap. A sound processor (a simple EQ) will fix the sound slightly. Stock fronts usually handle 20-40W so it's not like you'll get a whole lot more output, you'll probably end up turning down the lows and mids and cranking the highs. Do you like how they sound? You be the judge. 2 12's and 2000W? is a good start. The fronts won't keep up with the bass. If this is for a daily setup I wouldn't buy an SPL sub. Fi Q or something.

so will 200$ be enough for 4 built in speakers ? from PIONEER , love there speakers
