Need some help choosing a sub...
#21
I paid $600 online for 3 new SW8200's and they were warrantied.
The (approx.) 2.5cf3 dual sealed box was $75
I paid $250 for a used 1500W @ 1ohm / 750W @ 2ohm amp.
Two sharing 750W got crazy low when pointed to the rear in the trunk of my Sunfire GT. They probably saw 300W each. They are a little bottom-heavy.
One in a 2.2cf3 ported box @ 36hz on 750W (so probably less W, stock electrical with 1ga) was near the same SPL as my 05 RE XXX 12 on 1500W in the same box. The efficiency difference is 82dB vs 87dB and while using half the power I didn't notice enough to care.
Eclipse tech told me (approx.) 1.25cf3 = 40hz, 1.5cf3 = 35hz, 1.75cf3 = 30hz.
The displacement is .12cf3.
Although ported isn't recommended I had no problems.
DEFINETLY shoot for 1.25-1.75cf3 sealed, the low end is insane on half their RMS. Two in 2.5cf3 on the right note (I like to **** feat. Tila Tequila!) on 150W each move my friends' ext. cab steering wheel maybe half an inch, I'll try to get a video.
It's too bad I never heard them on something like 1000W each because I think they'd take it no problem.
I wouldn't spend more than $200+warranty on one though.
