Need Sub for new Camaro

Hi Guys,
I have a new ZL1 with the Boston audio system.
The sound is better than I expected from a factory system, but definitely needs bass.
I been looking and see 2 plug n play subs available, but not sure if I should go that way or with a DIY solution.
The GM add-on sub package is a MTX comb with 2 10" subs,
or, the Subthump stealth is a 12" JBL.
Of the 2 choices, I like the JBL, it fits nicely behind the rear wheel and doesn't use up trunk space.

OR, does anybody have a better solution?

Most pre-made boxes for the trunk I see have the subs facing the trunk, seems backwards to me.

I'm in Ajax, anybody here in Durham or Scarborough/Markham who can help?

Thanx,
Tom

If you just want a little thump the plug and play should work fine. But if you want the most out of it you're going to have to go aftermarket, with a properly designed box.

I went to my local audio shop, he recommends a JL StealthBox with a 12W6v2

Is that any good?

And I'm looking at JL amps. they seem to have a bunch of different series.

is the XD600/1 a good one, cause it looks like the HD or the Slash jump up a whole bunch in price. and the remote is 100 more too?

Thanks again

I know a fellow club member with a 2010 Camaro, stealth box, JL W6 and XD600/1.

Sounds excellent, very musical and hits when needed.

the JL stuff is great middle of the line stuff. you can get better stuff for cheaper, but not in a complete package like the JL stealth box system.

Cant you get the subthump box empty and add any sub you want? they make decent stuff, but if you have the money, I would have a custom fiberglass box built to accommodate a sub of your choice.

as far as subs, Lately I have been checking out MMATS, CDT, and Hertz. they all make good stuff. I like the CDT because they are rated for lower power and can be installed in a TINY box. this is the route I am going so that I can hide my sub a customer fiberglass box.
