Needing some advice
#1
I am looking to get a sub and amp and have narowed my search to the JL500/1 amp and either a 10 inch JL W6v2 or a 10 inch W7. My question in would the 500/1 be sufficient to power the W7. I understand that there is not much difference in RMS power between the 2 subs. My only concern with the W7 is enclosure size as I understand they have to be fairly large. Would the W6ve sound better as far as SQ goes? I don't mind sacrificing loudness if I gain quality. I also listen to a lot of rock music which has very rapid punchy bass which is why I have decided on a 10 inch. If anyone has a similar system to the one I am looking at and can offer me some advice or help if I am steering in the wrong dorection it would be most appreciated. I am however pretty set on the JL 500/1 amp as well as any JL sub. Thanks

The 500/1 is acclaimed to be quite underrated. It should do some 700 RMS, which would (should) be sufficient.
The question is whether or not you want to pay the extra for the sub, bigger box, etc. For your listening style you may just be ok with the w6v2. As far as SQ, you'll have to hear them yourself to get the best judgement.

ive heard from quite a few people that the JL 500/1 wil do 733 Rms. IVe heard the JL 12w6v2 off of this amp and it had very good sq so i think that the 10 would be good as well. Save some cash and go with the 10w6v2 as it will sound good for sq and u will be pushing more that the rated Rms.
