Hi Guys,
So ill be honest this is going to be my first system ever. So im wanting to get 2 12" Pioneer Premier 3500 Watt Subwoofers and their rms is 1000 watts per sub. I am also going to be getting two kicker 1000.1 amps would this work? Here ill even give you guys the specifications:

the subs: (2)
* Sensitivity: 90 dB
* RMS Power Range : 1000 Watts
* Peak Power Handling: 3500 Watts
* Impedance: Dual 2 Ohm
* Low Frequency response: 20 Hz
* High Frequency Response: 150 Hz
* Diameter: 12 Inch


the amps: (2)

# ZX Series Class D Monoblock Car Amplifier
# RMS Power @ 4-Ohm: 500 watts x 1 channel
# RMS Power @ 2-Ohm: 1000 watts x 1 channel

so i was thinking if im correct i could hook up the 2 3500 watts (1000) watts rms to 2 kicker 1000.1's on the 2-ohm rating of a 1000 watts. so would this work.????

 

threadjacking all over... but to above post... if you want to use those amps you'll need to get dual 4 ohm subs so that you will get the power at 2 ohms

 

wouldnt the laod be at 2 ohm?

 

Per coil, yes....per sub either 4 or 1 take your pick....if you are very careful with the setup you might be able to get away with running each sub at 1ohm on each amp....if you plan on blasting the snot out of it on a regular basis get the dual 4ohm version of the subs and hook 1 up to each amp.....

or hook up the coils in parallel then the subs in series to get 2 ohms, what i just did

 

Which is fine if he has 1 of the Kicker amps....he says he's getting 2 of them, which is where the issue begins......

 

new to the site and car audio in general, these links are very helpful! planning an upgrade to my 2010 Mazda 3 GT sedan, so lookout for some questions!
