JohnVroom, I've only got one car, so it can't be just me!!!

And no I'm not a rich ****er, I just save my pennys, and work hard at what I'm good at.

Yes the new Focals are sexy as heck, and cost a lot. I would like to point out though, that the Utopia Be kits will also be available as "Driver Only" offerings, which should bring the price down a little bit.

Correction, I just got an email advising me of the following.

The Cross-Over is a substantial part of the price, so expect a large difference for the Driver Only kit.

I hope that helps a bit.

the price for the speaker set are $4700USD (RETAIL PRICE).
like adam said, in the next few months tha will have Driver Only set and they said the price might be around 1000USD lower.
i heard that speaker in the focal demo car and i think is not worth it for the money.

Worth it for the money? How could they be? Does anyone really expect a $5000 set of speakers to sound five times better than a $1000 set of speakers? I think this is what they call the "point of diminishing returns". Spend ten times the money, but don't expect infinitly better performance...

^^^I think you are zoning in on a fact that becomes very obvious after you've bought them.

I'm betting they are good, but only in the hands of an experienced installer/tuner. They will not 5 times as good as a $1000 set of 2 way component speakers, just as they won't be twice as good as my $2700 Utopia 165W3 kit. (retail pricing) In fact, I bet most people would be over the moon with the performance of a well installed $1000 2 way kit.

For the rest of us sick puppies, the Berylliums await.

^^^Dave, do you qualify? LOL

This is turning into Ferrari: they only sell cars like the F50 and Enzo to clients with history of ownership.

I can see people getting excited about "qualifying" to purchase something like this. But then again, I think this kind of product is all about being exclusive, and stoking the ego.

I know of only 3 or 4 people in Canada that are interested in purchasing the Utopia Be right now. One of which owns an Audison Thesis...
