New here from Calgary. Hey guys is it just me or do C.A, salesmen make you crazy?

Hey guys, I am a new face but I have been reading the forums for the past 2 years, and I have been reading magazines and tinkering with car audio for the past 5 or 6 years, but I am definitley in need of more knowledge. I hope a few people are from Calgary so you could give me some input on what Dealers in the city are good to do business with.
I haven't had much luck with any of the stores, like A & B, Soundsaround, Audio Concepts, and Forget the crap car audio at Futureshop and Best Buy. Basically the salesmen always turn me off from buying anything because they just drive me crazy. Before I can even tell them what I am interested in buying, they recommend something else. I even phoned Soundsaround today cause I was interested in priceing for the Alpine Type X and he basically just told me that he could order one but I should really think about some piece of **** Pheonix Gold Xenon. All about how they are blowing away everything in their path. I thought that Car Audio was very different in different situations and opinions change all the time? Plus as far as I know there are probably ten other subs that could sound just as good if the install was right and in the right vehicle.
I am telling yah it has always been like this where ever I go. Some know it all sales punk tries to tell me what I want cause he spent 20 grand on his Alpine Stereo. Where do these guys come from and whatever happened to service? It seems all these guys do is try to push whatever they have the hightest "Mark Up" on. The next guy that doesn't just tell me what I politely ask him is going to get knocked out. I got so desperate that I called A and B in Lethbridge and they are selling The Alpine Type X for about #200 less. I know alot of people on other message boards say that we should support out local dealers but when you have guys like this treating me like I am Mentally Handicapped I am tempted to forgoe the warranty and buy online from the US.
Anyway holla back and let me know if there are any other dealers in Calgary that won't screw me around. I look forward to learning a thing or two from all yall.

hey if you think that getting it cheaper is what you need to be happy then kudos to you. some people do not have that thought. some do some dont. some just plainly want the service. to be able to buy something and never have to argue about getting service down the road. or not getting hassled with sending an amp for repairs 3000 miles away cause its cheaper to buy it online.
personally, my point of view is that i would buy something that is close to me. if it costs more than i have to spend less to get changes,modifications, upgrades or anythign else done for it. if you goto a place over here to buy rca and another place over there to buy a line driver and another to buy your amp, all in the efforts to "find it cheaper". then you havent built that relationship where one day youll go into a store and they will treat you right cause your a loyal customer. right now all you doing is being a whilstle gofer
ever heard of that. it a customer that goes in and says how much does that go for, when told the price the whistle comes out cause the price is too high for him.
i hope you find a salesman that you like. cause it sounds more like your finding product for cheaper, and not a good salesman.

Do you not shop around? I am sure you have been in the Classifieds area back when we could post in it, and I am sure you were asking for a price for something someone was selling. Have I affended you? I am the one who was treated like an idiot. Maybe I should just walk into the first store, which doesn't have the sub I am looking for and order it without asking the price. Yah, I should just whip out my credit card and let them go nuts on me. I asked for the availability for the product and the price, just like every customer would, yet instead I get some speal about a Pheonix Gold Xenon, or a JL W6, or a type R. So when they give this high pressure sales pitch about somethng else, I left... All of the stores. Yes they all did the same thing. It didn't matter if it was over the phone or in person.
I know from many other message boards that a lot of people like the Type R and W6, but I would like to see how the Type X sounds. Maybe it sounds like ****, but ****, let me find out for myself instead of telling me about some other subwoofer. I am not trying to pick a fight with someone who works there and happends to be on this board, just asking if anyone else has experiance this, if not then where did they go, and who did they talk too. Well, half the stores you listed don't carry Alpine, so that is probably why they talked about another brand. I concur with Shaughn, the Visions here stocks the Type X and have it available for demoing. Go to a Visions and check it out. I am not sure how the salesmen are in Calgary but here they either don't know anything, or are pretty laid back and you have to tackle them to get any service.

FurleyII where do you work? I am interested in anyone who can help me out. I was never trying to get something for nothing. Just the price, but apparantly the salesmam thought the sub I wanted isn't right for me?

Also I forgot to mention that I went to visions on Macleod a couple of weeks ago and they didn't have any Type X subs there. I haven't been to the one in the Northeast, nor have I been to the the Soundsaround or Autotemp up there yet. I may make some phone calls.

Went to both Autotemps, and none of them stock the Type X subwoofer, unless they were in the back. The two guys on 42nd said they didn't have any, unless they just got a shipment. Also the store in Douglassdale didn't have any that I could see. I really do not want to order anything. I just want to get it and go, but I may be out of luck. Thanks anyway.
