Look guys, I asked two questons, either over the phone or in person. I was not rude and my questions weren't hard to answer. Some stores answered my questions with a question and other stores just plain flat out tried to convince me of something else.
I am not saying these other subs are bad, I just don't care what they have to say about them. I feel JL is overpriced and I don't like the look of the Xenon sub with regards to the way I want to incorporate the the front and rear of the sub to be seen by people at show and shines in my install. As far as I know many people have used the type X on many different boards and have great reviews about them. The type X is also pleasing to my eye so it will fit well into my install plans.
I haven't been to all the stores in all of Calgary, but the ones I have visited in the last month either didn't have any or the salesmen didn't want to take me seriously, like I didn't know that the X's are more expensive and they need more power which increases the cost of the install because of the amp needed. I know my install will be pricey but I have put a lot of thought into it and I will put even more into it down the road.
That is all guys. I am not trying to **** anyone off here, but common, why is everyone treating my like an . ALl I did was tell you what happened and some how I am lying for the hell of it.
Furley thanks for the input, I will either phone or visit Visions in the next week or two and see what they can do for me. I appreciate that you didn't just tell me I am full of ****.

By the way, the Type X is a very inefficient sub....just for the heads up.

its funny that people think that im very pro alpine. the alpine i like i really like, for instance f#1, type x, and their video product is as good as it gets, yet i dont stock 1 pair of components, no type r or s woofer back up stock. the glide touch sucks ***** and we sell very few. we do well with the type s and r coaxes but nothing in their separates

And BTW, C.A. salesmen (for that matter, virtually all salesmen) drive me crazy. Which is why I don't bother dealing with any of the C.A. variety anymore. And which is why many are destined for failure.
The process is called 'disintermediation' -- this means that if a business can't provide a useful service that justifies what it charges, the market will put it out of its misery, and it will no longer be part of the supply chain. The Net has hastened this process by making it far easier for consumers to educate themselves about products, which makes lazy/self-interested businesses redundant. And therefore history... A very good result for the educated consumer.
In my experience C.A. is as bad an industry as it gets. I have purchased a lot of different kinds of goods & services (from cars to houses to clothing to construction equipment) and never have had as much trouble finding a decent seller as in C.A. Never. This industry is positively drenched in snake-oil...
My experience with secondhand/private sellers has been much better (partly because the expectations are different -- I am not asking these people for their expertise or knowledge, only the product as advertised).
But there must be some good retail suppliers out there, given some of the posts that I read here. Kudos to you -- I realize that this is a tough business. So Zaytser, keep looking. And if anyone finds any around Toronto/Hamilton, I would be interested in talking with them.
And in the meantime, if you end up buying from the US, so be it. Frankly, if more of us docile Canadians did this (in ALL industries, not just C.A.) it would eventually force the lousy distributors/retailers out, and leave the good ones relatively better off. BTW, if you don't like this, get over it -- this is the way markets are supposed to work...

the new f#1 processor does just that, its called the road eq. it analyzes the ambient road noise compared to a preset response when the car isnt moving or running and eq's the difference in to compensate. now i typically dont go for crap like that, but it actually works very well
