New Install with older equipment.
I doubt anyone on here will remember me since it's been ~5 years since I have been around.
Having 3 kids under 4 can get distracting and time consuming.
Anyways ..to the point.
I bought an old 97 Nissan Pick up off an uncle and want to throw in some equipment that's been in my garage for years.
I have a Pioneer DEH-P5500
I have a Legacy LA490 Amp
and I was gonna buy a JL 12" W3-D2 dual voice coil off a friend for a hundo (it comes with a box but I think the box is far far to large to fit in the truck).
I also have an old inline fuse holder and some RCA's which i assume I'll need.
So couple questions (since I was clueless when I joined this board a century ago and am still clueless).
1. Will this amp push this sub?
2. Will I run into problems trying to wire or run this sub with it being a dual voice coil off this amp?
3. Will I be able to run some kind of connection out from the back of this deck to hook up an Ipod since there is no hook up in the front or back?
4. Who wants to build me a box for the sub as small as possible (ported or sealed don't care) I'll pay
5. What else do I need other than some kind of gauged wire to run from the battery to the amp and a remote wire?
Thanks for the help.

1: Yes....probably not to it's limits, but it will make some noise.
2: No, wire the coils in series and bridge the amp....perfect setup....
3: There is no auxiliary input other than the XM Radio........you may be S.O.L. unless you get a newer one....
4: I can. but I will need more info to get it right....keep in mind the sub needs a certain amount of air to work properly and for the best sound you may have to give up more space than you want to.
5: Power, ground, remote, under-hood fuse and 1 pair of RCAs will do it. I usually suggest 4ga for the first round, it may be over-kill for the amp now but if you decide to amp your front speakers later it's a lot easier to do if you don't have to replace the power wire.....
Oh and for the record it doesn't matter how old they are......

Sounds good
Sounds good again
Can I not use something like a Pioneer CDB20 Aux input adapter to hook up an Ipod to this deck?
When are you available and how much you want? I'll pay you to hook it all up too ..

I have an inline fuse holder/fuse for under the hood, have a couple sets of RCA's, need to grab some 4 gauge wire for power and a ground and need to grab a remote wire too i guess.
You could have been nice and lied to me and told me it gets easier you know.
