New MTX, whats the deal?
#1
So I went into a shop that I sometimes drop into to check things out maybe pick up some new RCAs, just throw some business at the locals and I see they are hugely into MTX.
So whats the deal with MTX these days? I mean the place had this new sales kid that was spouting off how Alpine, PG, RF (this I can believe), and some others are not even close to the quality of the new MTX. I have nothing against MTX but I always remembered them as being sort of somewhere between Sony and Alpine in terms of overall quality. I thought these amps were basically a step above entry level equipment?
It may have been just the sales kid but the guy was razzing my system telling me that his MTX gear would blow it away, etc. If this is true I really got to sell my stuff and buy some of this MTX thats like half the price of mine...
I run...
PG Xenon 200.4 4-channel amp
Alpine 9831 h/u
Alpine Type X 2-ways
Alpine type R subs
PG 31band EQ

depends on aplication. a properly installed clif, visonik, blah blah (anything xs cargo) system could sound better than a poorly installed pg system or alpine. mtx is decent, i'd never trade my pg, alpine or avi for it. but its ok.

I'm not starting a rant on this but really how many times have you gone to a new shop and heard the salesman say "No keep that stuff you have it's great gear"?
Most of the time if they don't sell it then it isn't as good and if they haven't heard of it it is crap and should be taken out immediately.
Sorry I guess that was a bit of a rant.
Anyways, as was stated MTX has some great gear with good customer service. And so does PG, RF, Alpine, etc.
