new to site lots of questions

ok, so i have been using the search function and thought i would post what probably is a stupid and often asked amounts of questions.

when i bought my car it had ultimate t3 components 6.5 mids 1'' tweets. and 6x9 t3 in rear. i never have heard of them. it sounded ok on deck power, but since i have not heard of them maybe someone can relay some info about them. and retail cost of them. whats good and if i should even keep them in my closet?

since then i have deleted the rear speakers to use as porting holes for bass and installed in the front kaption mpt-6.50" components. i liked the sound in the store and top of the line i thought hey might as well. i am running them off of a clarion apx 2180. how do people like kaption audio stuff? is it good in your opinion? better then ultimate?

sub department i was running cheap pionner single voice coil 2 12" that would take a beating and keep comin for more. in a ported bassworks HUGE 4cubic box (ya i know i had no clue what i was or what i am doing s dont point out the obvious) powering i had a clarion dpx 1800 mono amp.

my deck is a pioneer 5700 dvd which i love.

my subs, box and dpx amp recently were stolen. and i was given $1000 in replacement insurance. i was going to go all kaption 2 10's dual voice coils with kaption d500.1 amp but not sure on if i should do it.

i know an internet site is biased opinions and i should do what i want to do but i will be adding more to it and want to know peoples opinions with reasons to back up what they say, no usless bs with no proof please....cheers

Kaption is very good equipment, but your ears will tell you what sounds best...to you. Quality is A1, great company, and I like the way their stuff sounds. If you want a killer deal for subs and an amp...look at Timmy Turtle's ad in the for sale section...2 DD 10" subs BNIB and a 1000 watt Clarion mono amp(mint condition) for 370.00!!
A steal if there ever was one!

ultimate is an entry level brand.. i know visions used to sell it i dont know if they still do or not... $1000 is a pretty good amount to work with, you should have no problem being set up for that amount of money.

i've heard ultimate's t3 6.5" components on a store board. i thought they sounded really good, but that's about all the experience i've had with em.

Ultimate is decent equipment. It's not high end, but it's not junk either. If it sounds good, and works well...use it, sell it, gift it. With regards to the $1000.00, I'd spend it like this; 350.00 for a good sub (Kaption spl 1200 works, and since you already have Kaption comps, why not keep it all Kaption?), 150.00 custom box, 300.00 class d mono( that new Pioneer mono block looks good and cheap), 100.00 for install and wiring, or do the all Kaption route you initially mentioned...that works too. It all depends on what you want. The SPL's would pound in the right box with 600+ watts, the cl10's are good sounding subs, and will get plenty loud with 2 of them. Personally, I like the spl's, just because I know if I get hungry for more, I can always get another, and double up on power to get really loud...mind you that's the 20 year old in me speaking. My true self, a 40 year old dad is quite happy with half that these days!
