newbie needs help choosing amp...
Hey guys, first post here but have been browsing for a while. I am rebuilding my system (quite small size wise and budget wise compared to most of you) and for now I am just going to replace my current car speakers. I have a set of PG Tantrum-X 6.5 components for my rears and PG Xenon 6.5 components for the front. I am looking for a PG amp to run these, can some one give me a suggestion on a good amp for my application?
Thanks

just use the xenon comps up front and just leave the rear...u would just be wasting money for rears...i would use a x100.2 or x200.2 for the front comps...right now i have the x6.5 comps but i have a octane 4.0:2 amp...doesnt get loud enough..looking to upgrade also

Actually I only have the tantrum's for now, why do you say that it is a waste of time having 2 sets? I need something for the rear, would it make more sense just getting a set of 2 ways or something? Sorry for the stupid questiions, but I want to learn.

some people like to run speakers in the fornt only(crazy sound quality freaks)lol.
Ive tried it that way myself and wound up putting my 6x9s back in,go figure?
Youre about to get alot of debate on this issue now so take cover, lol.
As for youre original question, i seen a pg exenon 100.4 in the fs section....take a look, ive got one and its great!

Yeah, I am definitally putting something in the back. I am pretty sure I am sticking with the 2 sets of components set-up. Would the 100.4 be enough to power the xenon comps since they are rated at 150rms? Also, should I put the xenon's or the tantrums in the front, not sure which ones are better.

The xenon 100.4 will be plenty. You will go deaf! I agree that the putting comps in back is up to you. However, you did not mention what car you have. You may have difficulty putting the Xenons up front, they are very big. You may want to open the doors and take a look first. You can also take the boot off the magnet.

OK, well I will check mounting depth. I have a set of kenwood components in there right now so i can compare the 2 depths and go from there. I am sure the tentrums would fit in the front for sure because I have them and they are not overly big.
BTW, I have a 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS.

OK, well I have the tantrums now. What are your opinions on what I should do? Keep in mind I am definitally putting speakers in the rear.
1)Should I get the xenon's and put them up front and the tantrums in the rear?
2)Keep the tantrums and get a cheaper set of 2-ways or something?
3)Sell the tantrums and get xenons for the front and get cheaper 2-ways for the rear?
One more question, if I go with the 2-ways instead of comps should I still go with the 100.4?
Sorry for all the questions but I want to get something that sounds decent and not spend anymore then is needed.
Thanks
