newbie needs help choosing amp...
k if u have the tantrums now..just use them in the front..i would just get a pair of coaxials for the rears...
now for the amp i would probably get a 2 ch xenon amp..either a x100.2 or x200.2 and put the tantrums on that...then u can just put the rears and connect it to ur deck...
if u really want to connect all speakers to an amp then get a x100.4

OK, that's great help and what I suspected. I also have a tantrum 300.2 amp now, would that suffice for the comps or should I get a new amp? I eventually plan on getting a 12" PG sub but for now just want surrounds.
Oh, and the comps I have now are TANTRUM-X 6.5 COMP
Thanks for your help again.

If you amp the fronts and not the rears you wont even hear the rears, whats the point of even putting them in?
I would amp the whole system to equal power and then use the fader to swing the way you want.
The less strain you put on the deck is better for sound quality imo anyways.
definately use the tantrums you have allready, they should sound good.
Ive tried no rears(didnt like it)
decking the rears(pointless)
now ive got all four running the same power and trust me its the best setup of all the options ive tried.
You should try that amp to the fronts and run the back off the deck though to see if you like it cause really when it comes down to it youre the judge.
Best of all you allready have the stuff to do it.
Are you installing youreself?

awesome, thanks for your opinions guys, much appreciated. I will try with amped front tantrums with the amp I got now and then coax running off the deck to start and go from there.
And yes, I will be installing it all myself, why do you ask? Is there something I should keep in mind?
