Hey Dukk,

Well I know those eclipse (8443) decks have a factory defect where a popping noise goes through the speakers when the deck turns on, so I wouldn't doubt that it's the deck. I"ve got them to replace this 8443 a couple times and I still get that popping sound.

Basically what happened I think was they fixed some wiring (they did a poor butt connector job the first time) yesterday so the everything was fine when I left their shop, but after driving less than half an hour the deck completely shut off. I was going to pull into a parking lot to check the wiring when the deck turned on again for about 10 seconds then shut off again and hasn't come back on since.

When I got home I got into the trunk to check all the fuses and the wiring and everything seemed to be okay. The deck is under warranty so I hope that's all it is.

Dukk, When I turn the steering wheel left and right the wheels turn left and right and if I'm driving, the car turns left and right lol. No, seriously, nothing changes when i"m turning left and right or going straight or stopped etc.. the deck remains off.

Just cause you paid someone to do it, unfortunatly doesn't mean they are professionals...........................

</font>[/QUOTE]Well, the reason why people take their car systems to "professionals" is because they have all the right tools and are supposed to be qualified enough to find the root of the problem and not a bandaid fix, which doesn't last more than 10 minutes. People pay big money for that stuff because time is money.

In my case, I completely understand because they thought they fixed the problem and I thought it was fixed so it's not really a big deal, please don't get the wrong impression here, I"m not upset with the "professionals" because they didn't recognize the root of the problem the first time, I"m merely poking fun at them!

The thing is, it has been the deck all along, Dukk called it and he never even looked at the system(look up a couple posts, are you psychic dukk?). Yesterday the "professionals" did some further tests and finally agreed that it was the deck and ripped it out of my car and are now trying to fix it.

Here's the deal. The deck kept turning on and off.. it was on when I left the shop, but it turned off shortly after, then it turned on 10 minutes later, then off, then on, it just kept doing that. I don't really care that I had to take it back to the shop because the deck is still under warranty.
