uhm... that's too bad! cause he would look at pretty much anything that needs to be repaired and he does cash too.. no tax.

There's always IT Electronics on Imperial in Burnaby. They been around forever... but don't know any contacts.

I'll see if I could find another repaired depot later..

In my experience IT Electronics has never shown much interest in fixing gear I have asked about. They always say "parts are too hard to get", which sounds like total BS to me.

Just as an FYI, IT does NOT fix Alpine anymore. How do I know this? I was there today, Alpine CD player in hand and was told "Oh sorry, we don't fix Alpine anymore." So I inform them that perhaps they should remove the rather large decal in their shop that says ALPINE AUTHORIZED SERVICE CENTER. And I got the "Oh, yeah he should remove that. I think it was because parts were too hard to get."

Not happy that I have to drive down to Japan Electronics, fight crappy Main St traffic, fight the engrish barrier and fight for parking. Dumb.

I just wanted to let know I managed to track down the guy that used to be the factory repair for the Van area on early SS and fortunatly hes still in biz Anyway his name is Peter Riedel @ PM Radio in Mission #604 820-0048 so if you need one fixed he still has many parts. Thanks again

Albert at Space-Tech on East 2nd St. (close to Hwy 1) designs and sells high end home audio gear. He has repaired my Audio Research amp/pre. He also repairs solid state equipment. He is very good. He'll make you pay for the estimate, and then apply that amount to the repair bill. Here's a link:

He wouldn't repair my really heavy 150lb amp, so I asked for repair shops over at candianaudiomart. Here is a link to the replies, one shop in North Van, one in Richmond.
