Broken JL 300/4 amp: Reasonable repair cost?
#1
So I'm in the possession of a broken JL 300/4. I took it to a shop (Autotronics in Mississauga) to get tested and they told me "there is a protection circuit on the amp, as well as two fuses, both of which are blown/damaged". The repair cost - $160 CAD....
The question is, do you think this is a reasonable cost? Should I take this thing to another shop (I don't really want to bother, but this seems a little high). A fuse is a fuse... but the protection circuit I know nothing about.. what do you guys think?
Thanks for any help.

Id send it into JLs repair depot for the best service.... which is where I think it's going to end up anyway...
reason I think that is it sounds like the guy has no idea what he's talking about and it sort of sounds like he just said $160 without even opening it up ???
Parts for that amp could range from $15 or 20 to upwords of $100 by the time you pay shipping... so I think $160 COULD be reasonable but Id probably send it in or find an actual electronics repair shop...
