Ok, so I have Morel Tempo 6x components. First question is, with the crossovers there is a jumper to set +3db or 0db for the tweeters. What benefit would there be between the two settings? Tried both, I think the tweeters are louder at 3db setting, but can't quite tell.

Second, am trying to figure out how to be able to have increased volume in the front stage, without the speakers distorting? I thought it was due to bass going to the front stage, so treble was increased, bass for low/mid set at minimum. Maybe gain on the amp running the front end? I have gain at max, to get as loud as possible, but thinking I should trim the gain down?

+3 = louder. (hence the +)

There is no "wrong" way to set it. Play with it, and use whatever setting sounds best to you. Play with phase too.

You should have your gain set as low as possible. The distortion is coming from your gain being too high. Turn it down before you blow your amp and/or speakers.

your gain should abosolutely not be at max.

if you are that strapped for volume, then you are either weak on power or the speakers simply aren't meant to go as loud as you like.
install will help as well. seal off the door as much as possible, try and keep that sound inside the vehicle.

just a rule of thumb when tuning. with headunit at roughly 75-80% volume, begin to turn up the gain on your amp from minimum until you hear distortion and back it down a little.

the db setting on the tweeter is for adjusting the attenuation of the tweeter in relation to the mid.
just allows for better fine tuning for those who decide to run their tweeters on or off axis etc.

Thanks guys, that makes sense now for the crossover jumper.

Ok, I guess I was pushing things to their limit having the gain cranked as such. I have the other amp lowered on gain for the subs, I'll try to find the right level before the front distorts.
