what do you do with your old set ups ?

keep ,sell ,set up the wifes car, trade them will friends ............

 

I use old setups to fill empty laundry baskets

 

sometimes the right sub or amp makes a good conversation piece....

purposely blowing up old equipment can be fun, but a bit sacrilegious...

 

Trade or make good deals to freinds

 

I'm currently building a home stereo with my spare JVC mp3 deck, kenwood 729s, MA audio MA112b, jensen 3022lx, and some 8ohm technics 2 way floor speakers

I'm gonna build a cabnit to mount the deck and amps in, and it's all going to run off old computer power supples.



Currently it's my test setup in my living room.

 

I keep them.
Sometimes I install them in my car and show them off.
I try to educate kids that the old stuff is good.
hehe.
Today I have an 1998 alpine deck with a Hifonics VII gemini amp.
People are amazed at how clean and solid it sounds.

 

In my younger days, I would sell off gear to fund new gear. Now I usually keep it, or I might sell something off to fund a new piece but I find more value now in keeping stuff around so I have more to choose from for future systems and don't have to re-buy stuff.

 

how big of a power supple do i need for 1x pg 1200.1 at 2ohms and 2x pgs 500.2 at 4 ohms
