old style amp with 2 Power inputs and 2 Grounds..?
hey i recently bought an old school amp (yes i finally found one!) its an old Pioneer GM-H200 (100x2 RMS @ 4ohms - 300x1 RMS @4ohms 0.03THD)
***now this amp is from around '91-'93 from what i gather, and something about this amp is different. the thing weighs 21 lbs (my 800 RMS kenwood eXcelon monoblock only weighs 18) but this thing has 2 screws for the "POWER +"), and 2 screws for the "GROUND -". has anyone ever seen anything like this? i am wondering how to hook it up. i've never seen anything like that.***
other than that little issue i'm not sure of, it seems to be a well built amp (and very heavy for a 300w RMS amp) and it has its own fan too, and (2) 30A fuses. i know this will make my component set sing! but i'm just not sure how to hook up the power lol
any input from anyone would be great!
thanks!

I'm pretty sure someone smart mentioned how heavy this amp was back when you were asking about it.

Enjoy that nice oldschool piece!

I would say that you can piggyback yet if it's there, it's there for a reason. I have several amps like this and I always just ran a separate power cable to it. Check out my old school Zeus Gen X amp it has 3 power and 3 ground connections. It can draw alot of juice.
web page for amp that has 3 power leads and 3 negative leads.
hehe. thanks Hardwrkr for all the great info
man, 2 power wires? i'm definately going to need a high output alt. this amp has (2) 30amp fuses, and my monoblock has (3) 25amp... i dont think my stock alternator is going to cut it lol.
so with this "piggyback" thing that would mean like just using an extra piece of wire with a ring on each end from 1 terminal to the other, and same with the ground?
yeah if i want full power from this thing to my components i'm going to need probably 2 lengths of fused 8ga wire, and definately a bigger alternator. my '94 cavalier puts out around 85 or 90 amps i think
if i was to piggyback the connections could i possibly strain the amp or anything? or hurt it? i know when i get some electrical upgrades i'm going to do it with 2 power wires, but i'm unsure if i want to swap the engine in a year's time or not. either way, i'll have to find a HO alternator for my '94 Cavalier 2.2L
thanks guys

SWEET amp, Cutra.. 3 power connections? you must have a huge alternator man, i'm going to have to start looking for a HO Alternator.
anyone know the ball park price for one for a '94 2.2L Cavalier? pretty pricey i guess:s

good luck with the sale man, thats a hell of an amp
ok so like i said before this thing has 2 30amp fuses, so 60amps of current draw.. i looked at this site at the chart http://www.profileusa.com/techsupport_installtips.cfm
and for 60amps at 12ft looks like i need 8ga wire.. since this has 2 power inputs could i get away with 2 12ft lengths of fused 10ga wire? or is that not how it works?
i dont wanna catch things on fire but i need to try and start saving $ for an alternator to power my 135amps of current draw from my amplifiers. my Soundsplinter RL-p 15 won't be feasible for another couple of years
lol
thanks for all the answers to all my questions guys
