Opinion on SONY Products

Hey guys,

I've heard bad things about Sony's car audio products in the past but there's a Sony amp that has caught my eye. If anyone who's had any experience with Sony amps or Sony car audio products in general could fill me in it would be much appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

they have a really bad rep, but what I've heard sounded pretty good to me, not at all what they used to be, but if you can get it cheap go for it.....cant comment on how long it lasts however.

Ive had sony decks, speakers, amps, never had a problem and if there is an amp that has caught your eye, go for it especially if it is its new line they are all cea rated.

Junk they should stick to what they know BEST making great TV's and Cameras instead of trying to have there hand in everything.

Now the old 98-00 stuff ES line was well built stuff for the time, But that new is just Garbage.

If you want a nice little system to start of with look into Kenwood or Pioneer etc

and stay away from all the offshore brands aswell, theres just to many to list.

Never had a problem with sony. Had a couple subs and speakers definitely better than their rep. But they are entry level.

As long as ure not a home audio finatic going into car audio you should enjoy it since its ure first system. Mine was a lil Sony 240 watt amp bridged to a 10.1 kappa perfect and it was the best thing ever... till i got somthing to compair it to.

Sony has a terrible rep but it is not all that bad as far as SQ and build quality go. If I had no budget I would compete with it has been done successfully in the last couple years too with their current product line. As far as SPL goes they dont have all that much that gets it done. I have noticed the guys with Sony who were first time competitors never knew how to operate their decks so they are a little complicated.

Sony is decent entry level stuff

stay away from offshore brands... hahahahaha dude he wants a HU they are ALL offshore
