Lol... It will work briefly but the coils must hit the side of the magnet cause it pops

We have to defince what is meant by over powering.

If by over power we mean giving it more then the subjective safe rms rating written on the subwoofer, then yes.

If you mean driving it past its mechanical and or heat dissapation limits then the answer is no.

He's referring to the latter comment not fitting under the heading of overpowering. There are situations where lower than rated power can push the driver beyond the physical limits of the driver (over excursion due to too low of a frequency, for example) or a situation where the thermal capabilities are exceeded. Personally I think going into this kind of depth is splitting the hair too fine, but I'm sure you can get more info if you want

the pic i posted is from getting it to hot, i purposely killed that one as im reconing my subs

how ever the other one died from hitting it mechanical limits/weak glue joint ill post that pic later
